Gwydir Ark will be meeting at the Whitlow Road Bird Route in Bingara at 7pm on Saturday March 23rd for a public walk in the Conservation Area on the opposite side of the road. The walk is timed to be a spotlighting walk to see what effect the current weather conditions have had on creatures in the area. The last time we walked in that area was November 25th 2017 and on that occasion we were lucky enough to see a squirrel glider amongst other things.
The walk will be led again by Alex Dudley who has quite unbelievable talents in spotting geckos, frogs, possums and all manner of other night time creatures which most of us would just walk past without noticing. We will park at the bird route, have a drink and few nibbles and set off as it gets dark. Because of the current weather conditions, there is going to be a problem with tiger pear which seems to be the only thing flourishing at present so please wear sturdy footwear and long trousers.
Children are welcome but must be supervised by parents and guardians at all times.
This walk should be a very pleasant alternative to watching the NSW Election Count and will surely be more interesting.
All are welcome; please bring a chair, sturdy footwear, a torch, some nibbles and a drink.
