Bingara’s Young Citizen of the Year

Young Citizen of the Year, Rachael Heaton has made many positive contributions helping others in the community.

As a member of Bingara CWA she has assisted with catering for the Orange Festival Long Lunch, both Black Dog balls, and monthly morning teas in the Roxy Cafe. She is Currently CWA Cultural officer, and a Touriandi Lodge aged care visitor.

Rachael is also a member of the Anglican Church Council. Last Christmas, Rachael sang at the MPS Carols by Candle Light, and the Bingara Christmas Carnival.

She is an essential part of the North West Theatre Company’s small back stage crew ensuring NWTC productions run smoothly and are successful.

As well Rachael mentors other young people at Bingara Martial Arts and holds a Black belt. In East Asian martial arts, the black belt denotes a high competence in a particular martial art.

Rachael’s involvement in various community activities shows other young people that being involved and contributing to community builds healthier communities.
