October 3, 2019

Pianist-comedian David Scheel has made a speciality of having fun at the expense of classical music. In Mad Maestros, David pays tribute to the greatest eccentrics in musical history in a hilarious mix of true stories and beautiful music and will be performing live at The Roxy Theatre, Bingara on Saturday 12 October at 2pm.

From the love lives of Liszt and Al Jolson to the world’s worst singers, the most accident-prone opera, and the testy prima donnas from classics to pop, the secrets of music’s nuttiest composers and performers are revealed, and illustrated with their music on the piano.

Book online NOW!Among the things you will discover is what Percy Grainger told his fiancée on the eve of their wedding; how Toscanini managed to lose an entire orchestra in the desert; and what Sir Thomas Beecham had to say about singers (and everything else).

Mad Maestros’ delicious mix of comedy and piano music is an illustration of why David Scheel is regarded worldwide as the successor to the legendary Victor Borge.
