Family fun day this Saturday for Red
07/12/2019

Andrew ‘Red’ McClymont has hit the ground running since returning home. Red has resumed work, starting back last Monday for half days, however fatigue continues to be an issue.

Whilst heading back to work, he has also been attending physiotherapy one day a week at either Bingara or Warialda as well as completing two hours of physiotherapy at home each morning.  He will also be travelling back to Tamworth for his first of six (at this stage) monthly doses of IVIG on 18th December.

“He’s back to riding his quad but is having a little trouble changing gears as he still has limited strength or control in his left foot yet,” explained Red’s mother, Andrea. “It’s so good to have him home and back to what is now a new normal.”

Ollie, Red’s son, just turned 11 months young on Red’s first day back at work. Ollie’s naming day was originally planned for the first weekend after Red went into hospital. “Needless to say it didn’t happen but the family are now in the process of organising one huge celebration which includes Ollie’s first birthday, Ollie’s Naming Day and Red’s welcome home just before Christmas,” said Andrea.

This Saturday 7th December at the Gravesend Recreation Ground, Red’s family are welcoming the community to celebrate his homecoming from 10am. This family fun day will see their monster raffle drawn, barbecue and refreshments available, sporting activities including cricket, touch football and tennis (BYO racquet) played, a silent auction, photo booth, chocolate wheel, kids’ activities and market stalls. Glass is prohibited and if you wish to have a stall on Saturday, please contact Taylah on 0435 312 153.

“On behalf of our family I would like to thank you for all your support throughout this stressful, trying time,” concluded Andrea.
