Gwydir Health Alliance Petition needs YOUR signature – Closes soon!

December 11, 2018

Gwydir Health Alliance was formed in 2017 partly to address the issues of attracting and retaining doctors to Bingara and Warialda. This problem is widespread across NSW and a meeting with several NSW rural councils took place in October with one of the outcomes being to seek signatures via a petition and to take the issue to State and Federal Ministers for Health.

Representatives from Gwydir Health Alliance plan to present the petition when they meet with relevant ministers in Canberra in February 2019. The number of signatures received to date has been disappointing. If you have already signed the petition, THANK YOU.

Gwydir Health Alliance is concerned that our residents may not be fully aware of the ramifications of not being able to secure doctors in our towns. If you are concerned about the difficulty in attracting and retaining doctors to our rural towns, and keeping in mind that Drs Clem and Di in Warialda will retire one day, please sign the petition at either Council office by Friday 14 December 2018.

There is also an online petition available until December 26:
