English league season going well for Bingara boys (30-Jul-10)

Matthew O’Rourke is making his mark in English rugby league circles during his year with St. Albans Centurians Second division team.

The team’s captain/coach, Shane Rampling, has been living and working in England for the past six years.

Shane is the son of Ralph Rampling of Bingara and Carol Rampling of Dubbo, and Matt, who completed his HSC at Bingara last year, is the son of Brian and Valau O’Rourke of Bingara.

Shane reports that Matt has settled in very well, and is leading the most tries scored for the season so far.

The team has played 11 games, won 10 and lost only one.

Matt has nine scored nine tries and has converted seven goals. Shane has three tries.

Shane has taken Matt under his wing, and found employment at his place of work.

Matt is due to return to Australia at the end of the year to attend university next year.
