The North West Theatre Company

The North West Theatre Company Incorporated was formed in November 2002, as a response to the commencement of the restoration of the Roxy Theatre, and the commencement of a TAFE Certificate Course in Theatre Performance and Practice.

From the outset, the Company decided to set itself apart from other amateur and community theatre companies by always employing professional Directors for its productions. The NWTC has maintained this policy through to the present.

The Company endeavors to produce two of its own productions each year plus host or co-ordinate other Productions.

Its own productions have included, Showcase and Educating Rita (2003); A Mid Summer Night’s Dream (2003); Diving For Pearls and A Christmas Carol (2004); Seven Little Australians (2005); Curses Foiled Again (2006).

There has also been three very popular Concerts including the Grand Opening of the Roxy (2003); Roxy On Broadway (2005) and Roxy & Hammerstein (2007). The NWTC has hosted The Sydney Opera House Orchestra with “Babies Proms” (2004) ,and the South Australia theatre production, “Flat On Your Bacharach” (2005).

The NWTC is open to all interested people. It has a very small membership cost and encourages participation by all ages.
