Bingara may be able to look forward to traffic lights on the Bridge as 1000 motor homes make their way to the showground, if anticipated numbers prove correct for the Campervan and Motor Home Rally, coming to Bingara next October. Councillor David Rose, who is the Liaison Councillor for the rally, said that this will be a “big event for the area and particularly for Bingara.”

At the last Council meeting of the Gwydir Shire, Mr Steve Wilton, Director of Finances, reported that the Council is holding big cash assets, due in part to receiving the funding for the Narrabri Road. He reported that the New England Credit Union has been giving the best investment rate over the past 3 months and that approximately 20% of the assets are invested with them.

Bingara Central School Students from Years 4-8 have designed a new ‘Google’ logo which depicts “What Australia Means to Me” as part of an Australian wide competition. Each school was allowed to select 8 designs to enter the competition. The winning design will be used on the Google site on Australia Day 2008.
