An almost perfect start for Gwydir (12-Apr-13) [Read more...]
Gwydir League had a great start to the Group 19 competition and almost completed a clean sweep against the Inverell Hawks. The Gwydir Girls won 26-24, the Reserves 80 – 6 and the A Grade led 32-28 with 3 minutes left to play. However the Hawks capped off a spirited second half to win on the bell 34-32.

The new force in Group 19, Gwydir League won their second trial on Friday night, just edging out a very good Ashford Rooster team. In front of one of the largest crowds in Warialda for years, the Bingara/ Warialda joint venture stepped up another gear on the Dungowan trial to show that they are a serious football Club.

Gwydir League continues with the steady progress towards the start of the Group 19 competition with trial games arranged for next Friday at Warialda.. Like Gwydir, Ashford has recruited well and the games are sure to be closely contested as each is determined to be competitive in what will be an exciting season for Group 19.

The Dungowan Cowboys are sure to test Gwydir League when they clash in Saturday’s trial at Gwydir Oval Bingara. Commencing at 4pm, at least three 20 minute sessions will be played. Dungowan are always well coached and this year will be no different with Luke Taylor at the helm.
