Laundromat proving popular

June 14, 2018

The owners of the new Bingara Laundromat have found their new business venture to be very well received by visitors to the town and local people alike. Travellers are delighted to find there is now somewhere they can do their washing, dry it quickly and get back on the road.

Bingara LaundromatIn just one morning, Gwydir News spoke to one customer who was travelling through on her way to Mt. Kaputar, another was staying in a caravan by the river. Both were delighted with the service. Machines taking up to 10 kg of dry washing, or the big machine which takes up to 14 kg (that’s a lot of washing) handle the loads easily. Gas dryers make drying very quick.

Local people who are time poor or short of water are finding the new business very convenient. One Bingara Minor League mother tried the laundromat between games at Gwydir Oval. By washing while the children are playing sport, (she had time to return to the sideline to watch) she had time to spend with her family later in the weekend.

Businesses which provide accommodation are also taking advantage of the service.

The owners have also very generously agreed to sponsor the Gwydir River Rats, by washing their footy jumpers after each game.

Pets of all sizes are also catered for at the laundromat, with a separate section for washing and drying horse rugs and pets’ bedding.
