Throughout May the Gwydir Shire Council will be hosting two “Meet your Neighbour” gatherings, the first at the Bingara Sporting Club on Wednesday May 16 and the second in Warialda at the Warialda Golf and Bowling Club on Thursday May 17.
The purpose of these gatherings is to welcome new residents to the shire, and to introduce them to other new residents, as well as connect them to our community groups.
Anyone who has relocated to the Shire in the last three years is welcome to attend.
Gwydir Shire Council would also like to invite community groups to nominate up to two members of their organisation to attend and are encouraged bring along promotional material or flyers relating to their groups to hand out on the night.
It is hoped that this evening will not only make new resident feel welcome and help them settle in to their new home, but may also increase member numbers for all volunteer groups.
The evening is free and will consist of light refreshments and informal speeches.
