Local school’s playgrounds open for the holidays

October 3, 2019

Croppa Creek Public School, Warialda Public School and Bingara Central School are again participating in the NSW State Government’s Share Our Space Program. This initiative sees public schools open for the community to utilise outdoor facilities during school holidays.  From Monday, 30th September until Sunday, 13th October these schools will be available to use between 8am and 5pm.

Northern Tablelands MP Mr Marshall said opening safe and purpose-built play areas that would otherwise be left unused, was a great way to get kids active these holidays. “Our public schools have great facilities and opening these spaces to the community during the holidays is a brilliant use of space,” Mr Marshall said.

Bingara Central School Principal, Brooke Wall confirmed the benefits to the community. “We’ve kept our grounds nice and green so they can come and enjoy that.” We’ve got a lovely undercover area out of the sun and beautiful new court so it’s a great opportunity for the community to come and use it during the school holidays,” added Mrs Wall.

There had been no problems with the program in past holidays and children and families are encouraged to take up the option of somewhere safe to play. Whilst open during the school holidays Bingara Central School continues to offer their laundry, bathroom and shower facilities to those affected by the drought.
