Players, officials and spectators paused for a minute’s silence to pay respects to recently deceased Gwydir Shire residents before the local derby between the Warialda Wombats and the Bingara Bullets at the Warialda Recreation Ground on Sunday.
It was a very moving tribute to Ian McGregor, Elsa Cleal, Kevin Hawkins and Arthur Egan all from Warialda, and Maurice Hillier from Bingara who were all keen supporters of their respective teams.
