The Gwydir Shire Council Bingara Special Events Committee received six nominations for Bingara’s Citizen of the year, and three nominations for Young Citizen of the Year.
Nominees for Citizen of the Year are: Tiffany Galvin, Greg Nichols, Peter O’Brien, June Ritter, Betty Thomas and Johnette Walker.
Tash Cooper, Erika Dixon and Lachlan Starr were nominated for Young citizen of the Year.
Australia Day recognition certificates will be presented to the Bingara UHA and the staff of JA McGregor Livestock and Property, Damien Crump and Ann Reardon, who were called on to distribute donations from the Bangalow Drought Relief program.
Australia Day breakfasts will be held concurrently in Bingara and Warialda. The function in Bingara will be held at the Roxy Theatre, starting at 8.00am, and the Warialda breakfast will be held at the Warialda Showground, starting at 7.30am,
