Tennis is back in Bingara

February 14, 2020

Tennis Australia’s Hot Shots Program is looking to return to Bingara this February.

An information evening will be held at the Bingara Sporting Club on Wednesday February 26th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Tennis NSW’s Ken Wray and Ellie Ryan will be there to present an introduction to the Program.

“An invitation is extended to parents of children learning or wanting to learn to play tennis. We also invite those parents who help out or would like to help on Thursday afternoons with the children’s sessions. I am sure it will help us understand how and why this programme works.”

“This will provide you with a great fresh insight into how the “Community Play” program should run.”

Any other interested people are welcome to attend the evening which will be free other than bar purchases.

Thursday 27th February will be a busy afternoon with a children’s coaching session will be held from 3:30pm. Both Ken and Ellie have volunteered to work with the kids and Bingara Tennis Club.

Bingara’s first night of ‘Open Court’ – “Get Your Racquet On” will follow the kids from 4:30pm starting with a short information session and play from 5:30pm.

This format was being promoted throughout the Australian open and aims to encourage former social players back on to the court. The evening will be very informal and laid back.

A small cost of $10 per player and $5 for any children under 18 will aid the club and includes equipment and a barbecue to round off the evening.

Bingara Tennis Club hopes to see as many people there as possible. Please phone Jan on 0429991747 or Nicole on 0427241103 to book for each event for catering purposes.
