Recreation

Nature has provided a playground in Bingara.

There is no excuse for inactivity in Bingara, because the town has something for everyone.  Whether you like to take a leisurely stroll or bike ride along the banks of the Gwydir, a dip in the local swimming pool or prefer a more arduous climb up to Batterham Lookout, the choice is yours.

The Bingara Sporting Club offers a range of activities, from a round of darts to a round of golf or you can visit the recently opened Gwydir Fitness Centre.

Horse riding is a popular recreational activity in Bingara for either the hobbyist, competitor or trail rider.

Fishing is also very popular, especially over Easter when the Easterfish competition is held.  Bingara is the Inland Fishing Capital of Australia and when you throw your line in, you’ll learn why!

Bingara is very fortunate to have the mighty Gwydir River pulsate through the town and the Copeton Waters State Park right on our doorstep.

Gwydir River activites
Wades Horses thrill the trail riders and delight spectators.
