One of Touriandi Lodge’s newest staff members, May Ventura has won the title of student of the Year for 2016 for the Community College Northern Inland region.
“May came to Touriandi last year as a Certificate III in Aged Care student,” Touriandi manager, Jennifer Brown, said. “She did her course at the Inverell Community College, and did her 120 hours of practical work at Touriandi Lodge, then I offered her a job here because she is so fantastic,” Jennifer said.
May, with an excellent work ethic, has fitted into the team at Touriandi, and is held in high esteem by those she works with, and most importantly, the residents. She travels from Warialda to work at Touriandi. May also works at Naroo, at Warialda, and lives in that town.
Last Thursday was also a very exciting day for May, as she and her daughter, Klarissa, became Australian citizens. Her 22 year old son, who also lives in Warialda, has also been accepted to become an Australian citizen, and will be naturalised later this year.
