The first of The Gwydir News Community newsletters was released last month. The publication will be delivered to Gwydir Shire residents and is available online.
In Editor Kim Miller’s Word from the Desk, she states, “Welcome to the first monthly edition of the Gwydir News. It was a sad occasion to print our final weekly newspaper on 23rd December 2020 after a suitable option to continue was unable to be found. The result is that this new community publication will be available as a printed and digital version each month, containing a wrap-up of local events and news.
Although the Gwydir News is now owned by Gwydir Shire Council, this publication is much more than a Local Government newsletter. We will continue to highlight the great features, events and people of the area, as we have always done.
A community venture is only as good as the support it receives so we hope you are inspired to get involved with us. We welcome your contributions of content and encourage you to make submissions on behalf of your club, organisation or business.
Feel free to contact us to share news about what is happening in your town or village, or to celebrate a special person that has done something you think we should know about.
A regular ‘What’s On’ column will be a feature so if you would like your event, meeting or function listed please be sure to forward details to us…”
