August 28 will see Round 1 of the Northern Inland Motocross Series kick off at Bullinda Bike Busters near Dunnedoo. This series runs over four rounds, round one Bullinda, round two Moree, September 11, round three Narrabri October 2 and the final round in Inverell October 15 and 16.
This series attracts riders from all over the state and is set to get bigger and better in coming years, with the possibility of the 2012 series being held as an open event. This will enable riders to obtain national grading which is a huge pull for Motocross in Northern NSW.
Local riders Blake Fletcher and Jesse Rogers have this year stepped into the senior ranks with some great results and hope to ride well throughout the Inland series.
Blake will be racing a Honda 250 4Stroke and the Suzuki 450 4Stroke sponsored by Vince Strang Motorcycles Inverell and Jesse returning to the bike that started it all the Kawasaki 250 4Stroke sponsored by Westside Motorcycles Tamworth.
The start of the 2011 motocross season saw a few new comers to this exciting sport. Bingara boys, Brady Cooper and Jake Rafter started this year in the 12-16 85cc/150 class and we look forward to following these boys progress through the junior ranks.
These boys will soon be joined by two more. Harry and Jack Bridges soon to start racing their KTM 50’s in the Division one and Division two Nippers. Anyone who knows these two young boys will know they will give it a huge crack.
