29th Annual Horton Dog Trials

June 3, 2015

The Upper Horton Sports Club will be conducting their Annual Dog Trials from June 5 to 8, 2015. This year will be our 29th Annual Trial and it has grown from a one day event to our present four days.

Upper Horton Yard Dog & Arena championshipsThe Championship Yard Dog will begin with the Maiden event on Saturday, June 6 at 8 am. There will also be Encourage – Novice and Open events. The Championship Open Trial will also be for the Paul Hodges Memorial Trophy. Winning this event will allow the winner to compete in the 2016 NSW Yard Dog Championships.

The Arena event starts at lunch time, Friday June 5, with the Encourage. This event will be open to all to encourage workers, the handlers and dogs.

Registrations will not be required as the event will not be affiliated with the NSW Sheep Dog Workers Association. The Novice and Open events will follow over the next three days.

The popular Dog High Jump will be held on Sunday at lunch time. If you have a dog that can jump bring him along and join in the fun.

A Working Dog Auction will also be held at lunch time on Sunday 7. There are good enquiries for dogs, so if you have one for sale or wish to buy one, please contact Barry Madden. Dogs must be working and under control, and be of good health.

The usual canteen facilities will be catering for meals and refreshments of a day, and there will be excellent meals at the Sports Club at night. The Sports Ground is in top condition, so please come along and enjoy.

There will be lots of firewood for the campers for the cold nights.

Camping is free.

Thank you to all of our sponsors, we really appreciate your support.
