A message from Angelos Frangopoulos, Chairman of the Australia Day Council of NSW

December 12, 2014

Our nation’s big day of the year is upon us again, Australia Day. This is the day when we stop to celebrate our passion for our country and highlight how fortunate we are to live here in this beautiful place.

Australia Day in GwydirWhat I love about Australia Day is that everyone celebrates differently – whether it’s a BBQ with friends and family, a day on Sydney Harbour or even some backyard cricket – we’re all able to commemorate the day in our own special way.

This Australia Day, we’d like you to celebrate online. Be it the Aussie Fan campaign, where you can encourage people, friends and neighbours to express their love for Australia, or the Little Aussie Songsters campaign, where primary school aged children can sing our anthem with pride.

In addition, we’re calling on all communities to step up and Salute to Australia at 12 noon on Australia Day and sing Advance Australia Fair. You can download a message from Angelos Frangopoulos Chairman of the Australia Day Council of NSW a version of the anthem to play as part of your festivities.

We want to see Australians everywhere stand united and pay tribute to this great southern land by singing our national anthem.

From our team to yours, we wish you all the best for your Australia Day preparations and a marvellous Australia Day 2015.
