Bingara U3A has just published its list of activities for the third term of 2019. “This is the start of our new year and also the start of Term 3.” said President, Linda McDouall “Thanks to all who attended courses in Term 2 and extra thanks to the people who presented courses.”
“This term we are trying a couple of courses where they will be on every week, much like the exercise classes.” continued Linda. U3A has been fortunate to have been contacted by a couple of people who are prepared to present every week. These courses will be Anna’s Introduction to Art and Finish Those Projects!
Anna Vervoorn has recently moved to Bingara and will be starting off her introduction to art with a drawing class at the Community College beginning on Wednesday July 24th running from 1pm – 3pm. Anna describes the course as one to “liberate your inner artist“.
Finish Those Projects will be presented by Cleone Dawson-McDouall. “We are sure that there could be cupboards full of knitting, sewing or home furnishing projects which have been started but put aside for a range of reasons,” said Linda, “so if you need help on them or just want to free up some cupboard space, bring them along and have Cleone set you on the right path to completion.” Finish Those Projects is at the Community College and will run weekly from 1pm till 3pm.
On August 18th, Paul Moulton will present Water and Your Garden. Paul has put a semi-automatic watering system in the garden at Lemon Gum Cottage and will show you how to design a system based on what you are growing in your garden. Paul will also discuss how to make wicking beds for your vegetables out of a range of simple materials.
Armchair Travel is on again with Diana Saunders taking us on an energetic trip to Spain and in particular walking the old pilgrim route, the Camino. As with last time this is the only evening event for the term and takes place on September 10th.
U3A will continue to run Pilates every Saturday morning and Balance and Bones every Monday.
As it is the new financial year, we need to collect the annual fee. This is $20 for the year and covers the cost of most of the activities. The only time U3A asks an additional fee is where we have to pay for a venue or materials.
Bingara U3A also asks that if you are interested in attending any of these activities, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. It is really important to know how many people will be coming. Also, if you are not already a member of Bingara U3A, please pick up a membership form from the Visitor Information Centre.
