A Night Out At The Star

January 30, 2020

Saturday 29th February will see North Star locals dress up and throw a cocktail fundraiser to inject much needed money into the local Sporting Club ensuring it remains open throughout 2020.

Set under the starry skies of North Star, ticket holders will be indulged in canapes and a drink on arrival, dinner and dessert as well as a live band and a raffle. There will also be a cash bar, with all proceeds going directly to the North Star Sporting Club to ensure their doors can remain open for local farming families.

“It’s the perfect opportunity for locals from across the Shire to come out and help support their neighbours,” said Iris Klesen. “I think everyone is looking for something to get their mind off the drought, even if it’s just for one night,” she added.

Event organizer Emma Oswald says the funds will make the club more useable. “The club is in much need of repair and maintenance. We are also hoping to make it more attractive for families as well,” she said. Major raffle prizes up for grabs include two nights at The Peninsula Apartments in Mooloolaba and one night at the locally owned Faraway Domes Luxury Eco Accommodation. Other raffle prizes include 18V battery grease gun donated by Black Truck and Ag Goondiwindi, 87L Waeco Cool Ice Box donated by Boss Agriculture, 3 large whole rib fillet steaks donated by Bindaree Beef and a box of Moet Champagne donated by O’Shea Royal Hotel.

The committee is very grateful for donations to and sponsorship of the event given the difficult times regional communities are currently facing. Raffle and event tickets can all be purchased from TRYBOOKING with more event information available via the ‘A Night at The Star’ Facebook page. Event tickets are only available to be purchased online, with tickets sales closing on February 17th.
