A weekend of excitement

The Bingara Show Society has moved their show forward a couple of months to this weekend, March 22 and 23. The Society is confident this earlier date will suit competitors, exhibitors and spectators alike. Bingara Showgirl, Amy Young, will officially open the show on Saturday.

As well as a jam packed pavilion and over 400 horse events, there will be a Beef Cattle section and a sheep and wool section. This year there will be Showjumping and Dressage as well as the usual horse events on Saturday and Sunday.

Upper Gwydir Landcare AssociationUpper Gwydir Landcare are sponsoring Backtrack Paws Up dog high jumping event, which is always a very entertaining spectacle. Something for the young and the young at heart – a special ‘library corner’ where children are encouraged to come along and bring a ‘grand friend’ to celebrate Senior’s week. Children and grand friends will participate in making a number of craft activities and also a hand mural.  [Find out more…]

Hugely popular in 2013, the petting zoo will be back again this year. It is wonderful for all age groups that love animals, and definitely worth a visit.

Throughout the show a roving stilt walker will be wandering around the showground, so keep an eye out for that, and don’t get caught up in the stilts!

There will be three Circus workshops for children aged 8 to 15 years. The first one will be on Friday afternoon, March 21 at 5 pm with two more workshops for Saturday.

Participants will learn a range of skills including juggling, plate spinning, riding a unicycle, walking on stilts and other circus acts. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential.  [Find out more…]

There is a children’s pet show on Saturday, so get your pets brushed up and ready.

Inverell Social Birdkeepers will have a display of Australian and foreign birds and parrots. The birds will be on display near the Secretary’s office. The display will definitely be worth looking at.  [Find out more…]

The show is fortunate to be having two fashion parades. Vintage Rose where you will be amazed to see the reborn clothing combinations. This will be followed by a fashion parade of the latest fashions provided by Shenanigans on Gwydir.

More entertainment on Saturday will be the mechanical bull, which will be available to ride through the day and into Saturday night. That’s always good fun to see who can last out.

As usual the bar will be operating and there will be plenty of food available on the grounds including pizza, filled baked potatoes and a barbecue.

Tony and Helen Cornish, sponsored by Bingara Service Station will provide nighttime music entertainment. The Cornishes music is always very easy to listen to, and very enjoyable.

And don’t forget the Tug-o-war! The Show Society has issued a challenge to sporting clubs, committees and/or families from Bingara, Warialda and Barraba for the inaugural Bingara Show Tug – o – War championships.  [Find out more…]

A large amount of stalls and exhibitors including food stalls, natural health products, clothing, bags, hats, jewellery, temporary tattoos and novelties will be on the show ground and in the pavilion.

There will be a large contingent of sideshows at this year’s Bingara Show including dodgem cars and all the usual whizzing and spinning rides. Anyone passing the showground will see that some have already arrived.

So there will be something for everyone at this year’s Bingara Show.

The show has lots to offer this year. Make a family day or two of it and wend your way to the 2014 Bingara Annual Show and have a wonderful time.
