An outdoor concert, held in the middle of the day in the Central School grounds was indeed an ambitious project, but paid off handsomely.

Acclaimed country music singer, Amber Lawrence, won many hearts when she performed in the Bingara Central School grounds on Sunday. The concert, run by the Bingara Central School P&C, drew a crowd of 160 people, and involved several community organisaitons.

Sunday was a beautiful Bingara autumn day, and approximately 160 people were entertained by country music singer Amber Lawrence.

Also performing were Arna Georgia who travelled with Amber, Clare Mead with Chris Richter and composite band of local performers, ‘Shark Bait’.

Amber, who has now visited Bingara for the fifth time, involved the children who were there in her songs, much to their delight. Children enjoyed face painting and the jumping castle.

There was a great variety of food available, from delicious curries cooked by Annette Mavin, caramel dumplings and caramel tarts produced by Marilyn Dixon, which went down so well (yum) and a tasty barbecue cooked by Lions which was greatly appreciated.

A beautiful cake stall and lots of home made goodies traded briskly during the day.

The P&C was most appreciative of all those who helped make the day such a success.  “Narelle and Noel Watts manned the entrance gate, wonderful stall holders, everyone who helped and attended the day, a huge thank you.”

Tiffany Galvin, president of the P&C said that the P&C is always looking for new members.  “We hold meetings week 3 and week 7 of every term, and it would be wonderful to see more parents attending,” Tiffany said.

All funds from the day are going to help the children at the school.
