Anglers get ready for October Camp out

October 18, 2011

Hi to all,
The Anglers October Camp out and competition will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23 at the pump house site. This will be the entry and weigh in station though you may wish to fishor camp anywhere.

The weekend will be about commemorating one of our committeemen who passed away earlier this year due to his illness (cancer).

Marty Turner was a great worker and clubman who is missed greatly by all who knew him. The ‘Martin Turner yellow belly competition’ will be held every year at this time with a perpetual shield up for grabs, plus runner up prizes in senior and junior sections. All prizes are determined by length (or combined length!)

Junior’s entry is $2 and senior’s entry is $5. There will be a free barbecue with entry. Memberships can also be paid on the day.

There will also be Harley rides for $5, up along the river road (Keera) with all proceeds of the weekend donated to the cancer council. The bike rides will be conducted from Cunningham Park from 10am to 2pm. So if you like the feel of wind through your hair, be there or be square.

Good luck and good fishing.
