Bingara is in for another busy weekend with a Bingara Lions Club major event on Saturday, and Barrel racing at the Showground.

The Lions Club have put much time and energy into planning the unveiling of the memorial to two men who contributed greatly to the Bingara community through their professions in the area of health.

A memorial to Dr. Frank Hollinshead and Mr. Bill Bullough will be unveiled in the park next to the Post Office.

Local musician, Jamie Lanagan will start the day’s entertainment at 10am. At 10.30am, family members will be invited to unveil the memorials which have already been put in place but are covered from public view.

At 12 noon, Lions Club members, members of Mr. Bullough’s and Dr. Hollinshead’s families and community members will all meet at the RSL for a Luncheon at 12.30.

During the luncheon the plans for the further development of the Park will be unveiled.

“Don’t think you will miss out on the plans, though, we have a special event for those who can’t attend the luncheon,” Lions spokesperson, Judy Adams said.

“At 5.30pm we will unveil the future plans to develop the park and invite you to participate in an exciting concept to enhance the project.

“At 6pm we will offer a free sausage sizzle. This is all happening in the Park next to the Post Office.

“It will be an exciting but busy day for all. Please come along and don’t miss all the fun,” Mrs. Adams said.
