Are you a closet thespian?

October 4, 2011

Now if you are wondering exactly what a closet thespian is, then the simplest explanation is someone who would love to try acting on a stage in front of an audience but has never had the nerve or the opportunity to give it a go. If this is you, then to the rescue comes the North West Theatre Company.

The company is producing two one act plays to present at the Roxy Theatre in Bingara between November 5 and 13. One of the plays, “The Playing Fields of Eden” has been written by Bingara’s Rick Hutton. It is loosely based upon an event that took place at the property “The Hill” just west of that town in 1912. The two players in that play will be Nick Hutton and Jessica Russell-Davies.

The second play is a called “Love Letters” by American playwright A R Gurney. This play requires a man and a woman between the ages of 30 and 70 to perform the roles. Auditions will be open to all and will take place at the Roxy Theatre on Saturday October 22.

The NWTC has employed the services of Sydney based professional director Terry Brady to direct the two plays and to select the players for Love Letters.

If you would like to “come out of the closet” and audition for the play please contact NWTC President John Wearne on 67 241585, or Secretary Ros Moulton on 67 241613 for more details and to arrange for an audition time.
