Bingara 8’s try hard against Moree at Gwydir Oval

August 2, 2011

The under 8’s faced Moree and Inverell East at Gwydir Oval on Saturday.  The boys were very excited to be playing at home only for the second time this season.  Unfortunately their defence let them down again but they made some very enthusiastic runs with the ball never the less.

Tyler Greacen had a fantastic game with hard tackles,  two well deserved tries and a brilliant conversion.  Sam Mahoney and Xavier Smith showed their determination by holding on well to the ball in attack.  Thomas Young entertained the spectators with a skillful kick and chase.  Lincoln Barton and Seth Keam worked well offloading the ball and Isaak Johnson was so close to scoring his first try but was pulled down just short of the try line.  Jake White was superb again and scored three of Bingara’s tries. His younger Brother Toby was heavily involved this week with some great hard tackles.  Andrew McGarrity came off second best against the knee of a Moree player and had to leave the field with a bloodied nose.

Bingara had a second game against Inverell East where Jack Armstrong scored a superb try and Steven Todd ran the ball well and tackled fearlessly. Thanks go to Rodney McKinnon, Trevor Abra, Graham Mack and Taylor Wright for helping us out on the day.  Winner of the Wood Raffle was Jim Young.  Tickets for the Manly Sea Eagles training gear are available at the Bingara Newsagency.
