The annual Gwydir Shire Business Awards will be presented at the dinner to be held at the Warialda Golf & Bowling Club on Thursday 15 September. The Bingara award winners will be presented in five categories; Large Business (>5 staff); Small Business (5 or fewer staff); Senior Employee (21+); Junior Employee; and Rural Business.
This year there were strong nominations for the Employees but Business nominations were light on. The strongest category is for the Senior Employee. The nominees are: Anne Brien, Casey Pearce, Chris McNulty, Diane Wilkins, Vanessa Patch, Rachael Lanagan, Paul Andrews, Skye Austin, Shane O’Brien, Marion Allen, and Renae Simpson. For Junior Employee the nominees are: Nikki Morton, Tori Dixon and Ally Dixon. Hannah McGowan has also been nominated for a VocEd Award.
In the Businesses Catagories the nominees are: Large Business, Bingara RSL, Small Business, Shenanigans, La Vogue, Cindy’s Hair Salon and the NAB Retail Business. The Rural Business Nominees are, Booroomooka Angus Cattle Stud, and Cathy & John Wade’s Gwydir River Trail Rides and Jackaroo/Jillaroo Experience.
The hosts for the Awards Dinner, the Gwydir Industry & Education Links Committee (GIELC) are looking forward to continuing the tradition of acknowledging and awarding our top business performers at the dinner.
