Bingara Care For Kids Charity Junior Campdraft

May 22, 2013

There were around 400 Campdraft entries for the weekend with Hiscocks Saddlery donating the draft winners of both days with a trophy; RB Sellers donated a trophy both days for the winners of the 17 and under 21yrs Campdraft.

The weekend was a great success, everyone said it was a great family weekend and they will definitely be back next year.

Around 150 meals were served on Saturday night, thank you to everyone that help out on the night, again Marilyn and Bez were our chefs for the Saturday night, Jacquie Breneger was our sweets queen again "WOW" everyone was still raving about the meal and the hospitality they received that night.

I would like to give a very big thank you to our live entertainment Jamie, Debbie and Joe Lanagan.  The music and Joe’s guitar playing were outstanding, not many people stayed around the fire to listen to them but those that did had a very enjoyable time.

I would like to give a big thank you to everyone who donated the meat and vegetables for the meal, Bingara Fruit Market, Bingara IGA and Hardware for the vegetables, Johnny and Lissy McDouall for the donation of a pig and John and Jackie Breneger, David and Helen Nicolle, Robert and Sonia Coombes for the donation of the lamb and Steve Apthorpe who offered to bone them out and role them into roasts for us.

Thank you to:

  • Susie Bilsborough and her two children who helped out all weekend with the other volunteers in the canteen.
  •   The ten families that offered and ran a sporting event on Saturday/Sunday.
  • Our cattle donors Will and Lindy Cannington, Michael and Chris Allen, Robert and Debra Mack, David and Helen Nicolle without you this weekend of Campdrafting was not possible.
  • Garry O’Neil and Blue Wilson, David Nicolle, Robert Mack, Clint Langon, Des Allerton and Robert Coombes for the cattle cartage.
  • Our Campdraft judges who offered their time to judge the kids all weekend, Leon Cummins and Tim Clark and for Annie Nicolle and Sinclair Munro who judged the Stock Rider classes all weekend.
  • Greg Johns and John Gill who spent the whole weekend on the mike keeping things moving smoothly.
  • Greg and Shelly Johns also lent their Gooseneck float to us for our office.
  • Darrel Burling for scanning all the cattle in and out of the show ground and the men who help out in the back yards.
  • Also a special mention must go to Ron Greenaway who prepared the Campdraft arena and the main ring thank you.

We can proudly say the proceeds from the Bingara Care for Kids Junior Charity Campdraft and Sporting will be able to give a very generous donation to the local charity to assist with financial outlays for children with illness and special needs and we would like to thank all our sponsors without your sponsorship this event would not happen.
