This Saturday the Bingara Sporting Club will be celebrating 90 years of Golf in Bingara. The Club was formed in 1927 and has continued to play golf ever since. The anniversary will celebrated at the Club this Saturday with an afternoon of golf to be followed by an afternoon tea where a cake will be cut in honour of the occasion.

Any golfers from years gone by are welcome to come along to the reunion and reminisce about the long tradition of Golf in the Bingara District. On display will be the original Minutes from the early days which are quite fascinating and informative. Some of the first accounts speak of the construction of the course and maintenance undertaken using real “horse” power.

Festivities will begin with the annual Presidents versus Captains golf event. This is a mixed medley stableford event and ladies are most welcome to participate. Names for the golf will be taken from 1.00pm for a 1.30 start.

At 4.30 pm following the golf any interested ex-golfers or their families are welcome to attend an afternoon tea with a cake to be cut by some of the Clubs senior golfers. Following the afternoon tea the men’s golf will hold their annual presentation and BBQ.
