The Rotary Club of Chatswood Sunrise has embarked on a new venture – planting native trees in rural Australian settings.
Bingara Central School has been chosen as the first RoTrees Grove site. Bingara was selected as the first site because the city is so dry and also has a friendly city relationship with Willoughby City, the home of the Club.
The first planting was twenty trees in December 2007. The project aims to provide donors with the opportunity to benefit and beautify the environment, as well as support local employment in a rural community.
The RoTrees Project was launched officially on Tuesday 22 January 2007 at a ceremony in Curry Park jointly hosted by Willoughby City Council and Chatswood Sunrise Rotary.
