Bingara Central School News: June 2, 2009 (Week 6, Term 2)

June 4, 2009

All Schools Carnival Education week concluded with a very successful All Schools Carnival on Saturday. Schools from Moree to Inverell, Ashford to Bundarra and places in-between travelled to Bingara for competition in Rugby League, Netball and Soccer. There were hundreds of children and their families enjoying the friendly family atmosphere and fine weather while trying their hardest on the sporting field.

Bingara school teams competed successfully in all sports. Some were the best team on the day while others were not so competitive. However, everyone was a winner because no one stopped trying and everyone played with great spirit and a positive attitude.

Congratulations must go to Mr McGowan and all the school staff, both teachers and support staff, for their organisation, team coaching and participation on the day. Thank you to those parents who helped out either coaching teams or volunteering in some way to make the day a success. The P & C and school canteen did a wonderful job catering at all the venues. The school certainly appreciates all the support of the Bingara business community, the Gwydir Shire Council and the SES for their assistance.

This annual event gives our students the opportunity to participate in team events, to enjoy the experience of interschool competition and to just have some good fun.
