Bingara CS versus Warialda PS in PSSA Cricket
Congratulation to the Year 5 and 6 boys who played in the cricket match against Warialda on Tuesday. The boys played with spirit and represented the school with pride. Unfortunately the boys were defeated 133 to 43 in the 50 overs match.

Fielding was a good team effort, everyone got to have a bat and all enjoyed themselves. It was great to see the boys shake hands with the Warialda boys and congratulate them after the match. A big thankyou to the parents who came along to support the team and for their help with the scoring. Thanks also to Daniel Rafter who umpired the whole match and did a wonderful job! Well done Mr Alliston for being an inspirational coach.

Schools Clean Up Australia Day
On Thursday students had the opportunity to participate in the national ‘Schools Clean up Australia Day’. Class groups and teachers elected to clean up a nominated area. Younger children stayed within the school grounds whilst older ones picked up litter in surrounding streets and adjacent to the golf course and the swimming pool. The good news is that students reported that there was very little litter to be found. Well done to students and staff who volunteered their effort towards this worthwhile environmental awareness program.

Stage Six Senior Success Program
Thankyou to Miss Gallagher and Mrs Marshall for organising this workshop and to the other secondary teachers who were present for interviews. This series of workshops is designed to assist all senior students and their families to cope with the demands of studying for the HSC. This workshop focused on the need for good organisation and the benefits to senior students having a nominated support person at home. There will be other workshops next term and I encourage all senior students and their parents or support persons to attend and to take advantage of the opportunity to speak with classroom teachers about their progress towards the HSC.
