HORSE SPORTS
On Friday 18th September another successful Bingara Central School Horse Sports day was held at the showground. A number of our students, from both Primary and Secondary, competed alongside students from across the North West including schools from Moree, Warialda, Inverell, Glen Innes, Armidale and Tamworth. Events included riding classes, hack and sporting events in age groups from 8yrs to 16 +yrs.

The weather was fine and the grounds a little dusty, however, the competition was keenly contested in the right competitive spirit with good sportsmanship evident throughout the day. Well done to chief organiser Mark McGowan and the other school staff who assisted in the smooth running of the day. Thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time freely to ensure the day was a success. Congratulations to all the riders who were competitors or individual winners and to Moree Public School who were the overall winners of the perpetual shield. The horse sports day has a long standing and proud tradition here and it is excellent to see that continuing with the large number of entries.

VARIETY NIGHT
Next Monday will see the annual school ‘Variety Night’ entertainment spectacular at ‘The Roxy’. The entertainment will commence at 6:30 with supper provided by the P&C. Everyone is encouraged to come along and enjoy the nights entertainment. An appreciative audience will ensure that all the hard work that students have put into the preparation of their performances will be worth the effort. The P&C would appreciate any donations of a plate to assist with providing supper on the night. These can be brought to school on Monday or delivered on the night. The monster raffle, which has  open order prizes at H Fay and Son, will be drawn after the supper interval. Tickets will be on sale. See you there!

YEAR 12 FINAL WEEK
Next week is the final week of classes for Year 12 students. This completes 13 years of schooling with the HSC exams to begin with English on Wednesday during first week next term. The Year 12 formal will be held at the RSL Club on Wednesday 30th September and a farewell assembly at school on Friday 2nd October. Congratulations to the students who are the first to complete Year 12 studies at Bingara Central School. Mark Vale (Principal)
