SASS Week
This week is SASS recognition week in all NSW schools. Our School Administration and  Support Staff are a hard working and committed group who assist in achieving the best educational outcomes possible.

Their work in the office, in classrooms, with students and for teachers is appreciated by everyone and I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation and to thank Judy Mack, Ros Goodwin, Tanya Odell, Kate Muir, Jan Miller, Liss McDouall, Sarah Abra, Kerry Mitchell, Ray Allen, Gerry Amer, Steve Fletcher and Trevor Galvin for their invaluable contribution to the learning opportunities for all students of Bingara Central School.

U16 League Knockout Finals.
The State U16 Rugby League Central Schools Knockout final will be played in Dubbo next Thursday the 26th August and our boys have won through to this final. They achieved this with success against other local Central Schools and now are looking to win through to the  Championship match in a round robin competition against Central Schools from other parts of the state.

I wish them luck and am looking forward to reporting their achievement and success after the final.

Solar Panels
This week Science teacher Scot Crispin and I have prepared and submitted an application for funding under the Australian Government’s National Solar Schools Program. The application, if successful, will cover the cost of a 9.0 KWh solar generation array to be erected on the northern roof of the Kindergarten classroom.

The project could see us save up to $8000.00 on our annual electricity bill as well as provide on-line data for students to access, that will show electricity  generation in real time. I hope our application is successful as the savings and educational  outcomes would be very beneficial.
