Bingara Central School News Week 9, Term 3 (September 16, 2010)

September 17, 2010

In Sydney, at the Department of Education Offices, on Monday this week, the very prestigious Ministers Awards of Excellence in Student Achievement were presented to 38 Year 12 students from across NSW.

Kristen Heal was one of this select group of students. Kristen was recognised for her high level of academic achievement, her equally high level of vocational achievement, her student leadership qualities and her regional and national achievements in youth competitions including Lions Youth of the Year and the ABC radio Heywire competition.

This year Kristen will complete 13 years of schooling at Bingara Central School and her list of achievements is a credit to Kristen’s hard work and application, the support of her family and the work and opportunity provided by teachers at Bingara Central School. Kristen’s success, along with the many successes of our other students confirms that public education here at Bingara Central School provides both the environment and opportunity in which all students can strive to succeed in their chosen field. I would like to congratulate Kristen, on this achievement and all our Year 12 students on completing their HSC. Year 12 final day is next Friday 24th September and HSC exams begin in the first week of next term.

I would like to welcome David Brennan to the position of School Administration Manager here at Bingara Central School. David commenced in this position on Wednesday following his success through a merit selection process. The position was made vacant following Cathie Brown’s retirement earlier this year.

I look forward to David becoming a familiar face at the front office and anticipate him making a valuable contribution to school administration built on his experience in recent years at Barraba Central School.
