Bingara Central School Variety Night Extravaganza!

September 10, 2007

Bingara Central School’s variety night is a night of nights on the school calendar, it brings together months of hard work by both students and teachers and enthusiasm that is second to none.  This year the school out did itself with what can only be described as a ‘School Spectacular’.

Headmaster Peter Macbeth gave a summation of the evening and spoke of his pride in his students, a feeling shared by the entire community.

‘Congratulations to all the students for a magnificent performance last Thursday night at the Bingara Central School annual Variety Night. There was a packed crowd of very proud parents, grandparents and other relatives to see them perform a whole range of acts.

This year we were lucky enough to see musical performances, a vast array of dancing and some drama performances as well. This was a fantastic event for our school which highlighted the talented students we have. I know that all the students enjoyed themselves and Variety Night will be a very positive lasting memory for the students.

I would like to say a special thank you to Bingara Central School teacher Kerri Tom, for all the effort that she put in organising such a huge event. She did a great job. I would also like to say a special thank you to Martin Hansford, who did a brilliant job with the sound and lighting. Thank you also to Sandy McNaughton, Gwydir Shire and all the people involved with the Roxy Theatre. What a fantastic venue!

Special mention to all our staff for their wonderful efforts in supporting this school event. I would also like to thank our school P & C and all the parents who supplied the wonderful cheesecakes and other goodies that we all enjoyed on the night. The support of our parent community is something that makes our school strong and my thanks goes to them all.

Variety Night 2007 is one of the highlights of the school year. I am sure that everyone enjoyed themselves and I hope that they all take away with them many wonderful memories.’
