Bingara given choice of 4 candidates

Voters in the Parkes electorate will have a choice of at least four candidates in the upcoming Federal election.

Following the Federal redistribution last year, Bingara joins Warialda in the seat of Parkes, where local member, the Nationals Mark Coultonwill be challenged by the ALP’s Andrew Brooks, the Greens Matt Parmenter and Independent John Clements.

Nominations close on July 29, the draw for order on the ballot paper will be held at midday on Friday, after which time the Electoral Commission will release the names of the candidates.

Voting will take place on Saturday, August 21, and all seats in the House of Representatives and half of the Senate will be up for grabs.

At the last election, Bingara was in the seat of New England, held by Independent Tony Windsor.

Parkes elecotrate covers an area of about 256,643 square km.
