The Bingara Lions Club was chartered in 1978 sponsored by the Lions Club of Barraba. The membership at charter stood at 34, the present membership is only 16. Seven of the original charter members are still in the club.
On Saturday, July 28, the club will hold its 30th birthday dinner. The main guest will be the District Governor, Lion Malcolm Merrick.
The Lions District 201N1 which covers the area from Grafton down to Foster across to Murrurundi, Gunnedah, up to Moree and then to Glen Innes, and on that weekend Bingara will host the District Cabinet meeting.
This is a major event for the Bingara Lions Club with an influx of over 40 Lions and partners. The Cabinet meeting will be held at the Roxy on Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday morning.
The Bingara Lions Club has made a major impact on Bingara and the surrounding areas over the years.
