Bingara Minor League shaping up for a busy season

February 28, 2013

Training started last week for the under 8’s, 10’s, 12’s and for the first time girls league-tag teams as they prepare for the 2013 season which kicks off in Inverell against Inverell West on the Saturday, March 16.

Training days this year are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 on Gwydir oval.

On Tuesdays players work on their fitness with Kyra where players will work on speed, agility and strength training, players are asked to wear their joggers on Tuesdays instead of their footy boots.

Thursdays training sees players work on their ball skills and game strategies with their coaches.

New football shorts have been ordered for players who need them and are expected to arrive in April, if players do not have access to blue and gold shorts they are welcome to wear their school sports shorts to games until the new ones arrive.

This year the committee are running a ‘boot pool’ parents are asked to bring any footy boots that no longer fit their child and leave them at the canteen on training days for children to wear who need them (we all know how quickly their feet grow!)

Coaching courses and League safe are coming up next month also so if you are interested in participating in either of these please let Damien Young know as soon as possible.

Lastly, the first Rep trial day for interested registered players is on March 24 in Inverell.  All interested players in going to the trial need to see Damien Young as soon as possible.
