Bingara Pony Club members receive Keith Lowe Award

October 16, 2008

Dean Brown and Beth Ozols were awarded the Pony Club Associate Award (Keith Lowe Award) recently at the Zone 8 Jamboree in Moree.

The Pony Club Award is the highest honour for service and only Associate members who have given practical assistance and outstanding service are eligible for consideration for this Award.

Dean has been a member of Bingara Pony Club since 1987. After reaching Associate level, Dean obtained his instructors certificate to be able to instruct at Pony Club. He rallied the other associates together to ride for their club and compete at Jamboree.

Dean took on the position of club senior instructor in 2005 for a three year term, 2005 to 2007. He has led the club team to jamboree with enthusiasm.

Beth has been a member since moving to Bingara in 1994. Since 2005 she has assisted Dean as Deputy Chief Instructor and assisted with the organisation of Rally Days and the Annual Camps.

Both Dean and Beth assisted the Executive committee with the organisation and running of the State Dressage Championships held in Bingara in 2005 besides competing at this event.

Dean has competed at many State and National Pony Club events and also at the Brisbane Royal.

Beth has also competed at State and National Pony Club events and also Queensland Interschool Events and National Equestrian Federation of Australia events. Both these young members have no hesitation in visiting other Clubs to assist with instructions or judging at the competition days.

Both Dean and Beth are great ambassadors for their chosen sports and for Pony Club in general. Bingara Pony Club is proud to have these two young people as members of their club.
