Last weekend saw Bingara Pony Club do battle with other pony clubs in the Gwydir Shire to win the coveted Gwydir Shield. The Competition began 2 years ago and has been won both times by Bingara.
Competitors came from far and wide to brave the horrendous Gravesend conditions which nearly blew riders off their horses. The wind chill factor was not for the faint hearted. But the Bingara Club were out in force and a great family day out was had by all.
The beauty of the Gwydir Shield is that competitors compete for the glory of their club, not themselves and the camaraderie was shown by the fact the winners could choose the colour of their ribbons, no one cared who won as individuals.

Well done Bingara Pony Club and congratulations to all other competitors who made the weekend such a phenomenal success for all who attended. Gravesend may be cold, but the hospitality is very warm.
