Some of the entertainment at this year’s Bingara Show on 22 March will be a dog high jumping demonstration.
|Upper Gwydir Landcare Assn (UGLA) is sponsoring Backtrack Youth Works from Armidale with their Paws Up dog jumping team. The Paws Up team, with their trained border collies, have won most of the top places at dog high jumping contests at agricultural shows across the state, holding the current record of 9’ 10” (2.74m).
There will be two demonstrations throughout the day on Saturday 22 March at the Showground and a ‘Calcutta’ at 7pm on Saturday evening.
If you would like to nominate your dog, but don’t think they are in the same league as the Paws Up team, the boys will happily coordinate a stand-alone competition for the locals. If only a few nominations are received the Paws Up team can make up the numbers with some of their younger dogs in training.
This invitation is open to those who have had their dogs compete before, and complete novices. If you are interested in nominating your dog, please contact Robyn Phillips on 0409 770 994 before March 15.
