Bingara U3A has just published its list of activities for the first term of 2020. “We have some interesting and fun events for the start of this year” said President, Linda McDouall. “But firstly thank you to all of you who attended U3A activities in Bingara last year. We are proud to say that we now have 50 members which is very good for a U3A group in a small town.”
Linda told the Gwydir News that Bingara U3A’s first event will be next Tuesday. “Elizabeth Kakoschke will present information on how we can help our beautiful and unique wildlife in time of drought or injury,” said Linda.
Other courses in the future will include Line Dancing for Beginners on four Saturdays from February 15th presented again by Bev Matthews.
In March there will be another in the very popular series of Armchair Travel which this time will go to Mongolia. Also in March, Warialda artist, Yvonne Ledingham, will demonstrate how she makes her hand-made paper and then how she uses it in her works of art. “We are thrilled that Yvonne will demonstrate some of the methods and materials she uses to make her paper,” said Linda. “She will also have some of her beautiful works on display; if you have not seen any of Yvonne’s work you will be amazed and delighted,” Linda continued.
A simple car maintenance workshop in April will be presented by the very knowledgeable Geoff Leech.
“Of course, we will still be running Pilates every Saturday morning, Balance and Bones every Monday and the self-directed Artists group on the first Wednesday of each month.”
Bingara U3A asks that if you are interested in attending any of these activities, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. It is vitally important for them to know how many people will be coming. Also, if you are not already a member of Bingara U3A, please pick up a membership form from the Visitor Information Centre.
