November 23, 2015

Bingara’s Remembrance Day was held, as per usual, at the Bingara War Memorial Gardens.  However this year’s ceremony concluded somewhat differently with the burial of a time capsule.

Cr Catherine Egan and New England Mutual’s Robyn Ritchie bury the Time Capsule. The time capsule is an initiave put together by the New England Mutual Bingara Branch and included donations of items by Bingara RSL Sub Branch, Bingara Branch New England Mutual Credit Union, Bingara Wattle Arts and Craft, Bingara Advocate, Bingara Tourism, Bingara IGA & Hardware, Bingara Historical Society, Bingara United Hospital Auxiliaries, Bingara Newsagency, Baden and Marg Brown and Caiden Mossman.

“We are very grateful to the men’s shed for making the capsule, to Lynne Crawford for painting it and to the individuals and businesses who have contributed items to the capsule,” said New England Mutual Bingara Branch team member Robyn Ritchie.

The capsule will be dug up in 25 years time.
