May 4, 2012

Burwood Girls High School band is making a return visit to Bingara on May 6 after quite a few years and is looking forward to enjoying Bingara’s friendship once again.

On Monday, May 7 the band will visit Naroo Hostel, Warialda before going to Warialda High School for a workshop and concert. In the afternoon the band will join the Gwydir Shire band for their rehearsal.

Tuesday, May 8 the band will be at Bingara Central School for a workshop and performance. The highlight of the visit will be a special Twilight Performance on May 8, at 5.30pm at the Roxy Theatre with students from both Warialda and Bingara schools performing with the Burwood Band. At the conclusion of the performance, Bingara Lions Club will put on a sausage sizzle in the Roxy Courtyard for all the performers for $5 a head.

On Wednesday morning, before the band heads home, the residents of Touriandi Lodge will be treated to an impromptu concert which will be followed by morning tea. Everyone is invited, not only the parents of band students, but anyone who is interested in good band music and fostering the love of music in our young people.

A gold coin admission will go to the Bingara Central School Band. The conductors will be Mr Daniel Murphy from BGHS and Mrs Robin Conway from Warialda High and Bingara Central.
