Business House social golf brings new faces to the game

December 4, 2012

With only one week of the Business House Golf competition left to play the Sportsman’s Hotel still remains in the lead with a score of 351 points just ahead of the Gwydir River Rats on 323 points.

These teams are followed closely by H Roy Miller (302), Gwydir Shire (282), the late starting IGA (238) and the Sporting Club (104). Last week’s round was won by the IGA team with an impressive 87 points.

As next week is the last round all players are urged to come along and play on Friday if possible.

There will be a quick presentation on Friday after golf to the winning team, runners-up and also a few individual prizes for golfers and non golfers.

If you can’t play Friday then cards are available at the club throughout the week. Don’t forget to check your latest handicap which are posted on the golfers notice board as a few have changed following some high scoring. The IGA team will need to check the board as they all go down following lasts weeks win.

This competition has proven to be quite a success with 40 players participating.

Of the players, almost half were not regular golfers and they all have really enjoyed the relaxed social atmosphere of the Business House Competition.

There have been a few bitten by the golf bug and have already lodged cards in to receive a handicap.

Another Business House competition will be run after the Christmas break so any businesses or individuals looking for a game of social golf are most welcome to come along and participate.
