Calling all budding thespians

February 7, 2016

Have you ever sat in a theatre and wondered what it would be like to be up there on that stage, with the spotlight trained right on you?

Perhaps you have watched a performance on stage, TV or in a movie and thought “wouldn’t it be great to just lose yourself in a character like that.”

Well, why don’t you come along to the North West Theatre Company’s play readings and have a go. It’s a lot of fun – nothing too serious.

The first play reading for 2016 will be held on Sunday afternoon February 14 at 4.00 pm, in the Roxy upstairs Conference Room and from then on every second month.

The first play reading will be a comedy by that great playwright Neil Simon.

Remember the movie “The Odd Couple” with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon? Well that’s the one – that’s the script to be read!

A play read is just an opportunity to read a script with others who have the same interest as you – a love of theatre. Fellow theatre tragics, who dream of one day “treading the boards”.

Sometimes the play reading discovers a really good script, perhaps one suitable for consideration for a NWTC production. Other times those taking part may give the play the thumbs down. You will be the judge.

Occasionally, because of the people present a female role will have to be read by a male or vice versa.

It doesn’t really matter when there are characters to play, a story to become involved in, a script to experience and fun to be had.

So come along on Sunday February 14 at 4.00 pm and spend an enjoyable afternoon, with fellow Bingara thespians.
